Reading Comprehension Questions for SSC & Bank Exams: 36 Free Practice Tests
Reading comprehension (RC) gives a passage followed by questions on its main idea, details, inference, tone and vocabulary. Bank exams usually give one or more RC passages in English; SSC also asks comprehension passages.
Answers must come from the passage, not from outside knowledge.

Reading Comprehension: How to approach RC
- Skim the questions first so you know what to look for.
- Read the passage once for its main idea and the author's tone; note where each paragraph's point is.
- For detail questions, go back to the exact line; for inference questions, pick what the passage implies, not what it states outright.
- Eliminate options with extreme words ("always", "never") unless the passage uses them.
- For vocabulary questions, choose the meaning that fits the context of the sentence.
