Editorial Policy

This page explains where our information comes from, how we check it before publishing, how mock tests are built and reviewed, and what happens when we get something wrong.

1. Sources we use

Facts about an exam or recruitment (vacancies, dates, eligibility, fees, exam pattern, marking, cut-offs) are taken only from official sources:

  • Notices, calendars, results and answer keys of the recruiting body: ssc.gov.in, ibps.in, sbi.bank.in, rrb.indianrailways.gov.in and the regional RRB websites, state commissions and other official recruiters.
  • The Reserve Bank of India (rbi.org.in) and the Press Information Bureau (pib.gov.in) for banking awareness and current affairs.
  • Government gazettes and ministry websites where a notice refers to them.

We do not copy dates or numbers from coaching websites, news portals or social media. Where an official date has not been published, we write "Awaited" instead of guessing, and we label tentative dates as tentative.

2. How updates are verified

  • Every job post, admit card and result page links the official notice it is based on, with its date.
  • Vacancies, age limits, fees and last dates are checked line by line against that notice before publishing. Dates are written as the notice gives them.
  • When a recruiter issues a corrigendum (for example a revised vacancy list or a changed exam date), we update the page and say what changed.
  • Pages show when they were last updated.

3. How mock tests are made and checked

  • Pattern first. Each full mock copies the number of questions, sections, time limits and marking from the latest official notice for that exam. Sectional timers are used where the real exam has them.
  • Official marking. Scores use the real marks per question and the real negative marking of the exam (for example +2 / −0.50 for SSC CGL Tier 1, one-fourth of the question's marks for IBPS and SBI, 1/3 for RRB).
  • Answer checks. Every answer is worked out again before publishing; numerical answers are re-calculated, and puzzles and seating arrangements are checked to have exactly one valid solution. Each question has an explanation.
  • No duplicates. New tests are checked against existing ones so the same question does not appear again under a new title.
  • Clear labels for past papers. "Official Paper" means the real questions from a recruiter's published response sheet with its final answer key. "Memory-based" means a paper rebuilt from candidates' reports because the recruiter does not publish papers (SBI and IBPS). "Practice Paper" means a paper modelled on a past shift. We never present a practice paper as an official one.
  • Honest numbers. Counts of tests and questions on the site are calculated from the tests themselves. We do not show invented ratings, attempt counts or success claims.

4. Tools and assistance

Drafts of notes, explanations and questions may be prepared with the help of software tools, including AI writing assistants. Nothing is published on that basis alone: facts are checked against the official source and answers are verified as described above.

5. Corrections

If you find an error (a wrong answer, an outdated date, a broken link), please tell us through the contact page or at bookofexams@gmail.com. Mention the page link and, for a test, the question number. We check every report against the official source and fix confirmed errors as soon as we can. For a mock test, a corrected answer key applies to new attempts.
