- The transition to a green economy is not merely an environmental imperative but a crucial economic necessity. As nations grapple with the escalating impacts of climate change, the shift towards renewable energy sources offers a dual benefit: mitigating ecological degradation and fostering robust economic growth. Historically, industrial progress was inextricably linked to fossil fuel consumption, leading to a paradigm where economic expansion meant environmental compromise. However, the advent of sophisticated solar and wind technologies has disrupted this narrative. Investments in green infrastructure are now creating more jobs per dollar than traditional energy sectors. Furthermore, adopting sustainable practices reduces long-term operational costs for businesses, making them more resilient against fluctuating fossil fuel prices. Critics often cite the high initial capital required for this transition as a major deterrent. While the upfront costs are undeniably substantial, the long-term savings, coupled with the avoidance of climate-related disasters, present a compelling economic argument. Governments play a pivotal role in this paradigm shift by implementing carbon pricing, offering subsidies for clean energy, and investing in public transport systems. Ultimately, realizing a green economy requires a collaborative effort between the public sector, private enterprises, and conscious consumers.
Q1.What is the primary theme of the passage?

- D.Building new infrastructure and reducing consumer demand
Q3.Which of the following is cited as a major deterrent by critics of the green economy transition?
- A.High initial capital required
- B.Lack of skilled labor in the market
- C.Unreliability of wind and solar power
- D.Excessive government interference
