    FAQs

How does the exam eligibility checker work?

It takes your date of birth, highest qualification and category, and checks them against the age band, the age cut-off date and the qualification rule printed in each exam's official notice. For each exam it shows your exact age on the cut-off date and the date-of-birth window that applies to your category.

Which date is age counted on?

Each notice fixes its own date: 01.08.2026 for SSC CGL, SSC CHSL and IBPS Clerk, 01.01.2026 for SSC GD and RRB Group D, 01.01.2027 for RRB NTPC, 01.07.2026 for IBPS PO and 01.04.2026 for SBI PO and SBI Clerk. The date you apply on does not matter.

How much age relaxation do OBC, SC/ST and PwBD candidates get?

In all of these exams the upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) and 5 years for SC/ST. PwBD candidates get 10 years (13 for OBC and 15 for SC/ST). EWS candidates get no age relaxation. PwBD candidates are not eligible for SSC GD.

Are ex-servicemen and government employee relaxations included?

No. Ex-servicemen, serving government employees, widows and divorced women, and departmental candidates get extra relaxations that depend on service details. Check the relaxation table in the notice linked under each exam.

    Can final-year students apply?

For SBI PO and SBI Clerk 2026, yes, provisionally, if they pass by the date SBI sets. IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, SSC CGL and RRB NTPC need the degree in hand by the date in the notice, so final-year students are shown as not eligible for them.

Why does SSC MTS use the 2025 notice?

SSC had not published the MTS and Havaldar 2026 notice when this page was checked (23 October 2026). The checker uses the latest official notice, the MTS 2025 notice with ages counted on 01.08.2025, and will be updated when the 2026 notice is out.

Does this tool confirm my eligibility?

No. It is a quick check of age and minimum qualification only. Nationality, post-wise subject rules, physical and medical standards, domicile and the number of attempts are not checked, so read the official notice before you apply.
