How to use SSC mock tests, whichever exam you are writing

SSC exams share most of their syllabus: Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English (or Hindi in GD). What changes between them is the level, the timing and the marking. CGL and CHSL Tier 1 now lock each section to 15 minutes; MTS runs two 45-minute sessions with different penalties; GD has one 60-minute timer for 80 questions with a light 0.25 penalty. So the first rule is simple: take full mocks of your own exam, not a neighbouring one.

Topic-wise and sectional tests, on the other hand, carry over well. A CHSL aspirant can use CGL topic tests on geometry or trigonometry; a GD aspirant can use MTS or CHSL GK tests for extra General Awareness practice. Use them to fix specific weak chapters, then return to your own exam's full mocks.

A workable plan for any SSC exam: three to four weeks of sectional and topic tests on a timer, then full mocks once or twice a week, rising to three a week in the last month. After every mock, sort mistakes into concept gaps, speed problems and careless slips, and fix each in a different way: notes for concepts, timed sectionals for speed, and stricter guessing rules for slips.

Negative marking decides more SSC ranks than most people think. At −0.50 (CGL, CHSL) four wrong answers cost one right answer; in MTS Session II three wrong answers do. Track accuracy in every mock and do not let it fall below 85-90% while you push your attempts up.

Finish with the official previous year papers, which carry the real questions from SSC's response sheets. They show the true level of each section, which practice tests from different sources tend to miss in either direction.

SSC Free Mock Test: FAQs

Are all these SSC mock tests free?

Yes. All 860 SSC tests across CGL, CHSL, MTS and GD are free to attempt.

Do I need to log in to take an SSC mock test?

No login is needed to start. Your first three tests in a browser run in guest mode; after that, a free Google sign-in keeps your practice going and saves your history. Detailed solutions also open after the free sign-in.

Which SSC exams have mock tests here?

SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC MTS and SSC GD Constable, each with full mocks, sectional tests, topic-wise tests and mini mocks, plus previous year papers where SSC has published them.

Are the SSC mocks based on the 2026 pattern?

Yes. CGL and CHSL full mocks have 100 questions with a 15-minute timer per section, MTS mocks follow the two-session scheme, and GD mocks have 80 questions in 60 minutes, as in the latest official notices.

What is the negative marking in SSC exams?

CGL and CHSL Tier 1: −0.50 per wrong answer (2 marks per question). GD: −0.25 (2 marks per question). MTS: none in Session I, −1 in Session II (3 marks per question).

Do I get the result immediately?

Yes. Score, accuracy and section-wise marks appear as soon as you submit, using the marking of that exam.

Can I use CGL mocks for CHSL?

The Tier 1 format is the same (100 questions, 200 marks, 15-minute sections, −0.50), but CHSL is set at 10+2 level and lists Quant as "Basic Arithmetic Skill". CGL mocks are good extra practice; CHSL mocks match the level better.

Are the SSC previous year papers official?

Papers marked "Official Paper" use the real questions from SSC's published response sheets, checked against SSC's final answer key. Practice papers modelled on a shift are labelled as such.

How many SSC mock tests should I take?

There is no official number. Most aspirants do well with sectional and topic tests first, then one or two full mocks a week, rising to about three a week in the final month, each followed by a careful review.
