SSC CGL Cut Off: Quick Answer
The SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 cut-off for "all other posts" (List-3) was 136.40215 for UR, 130.36617 for OBC, 127.41630 for EWS, 115.02843 for SC and 106.38576 for ST, out of 200 normalised marks (corrected figures from SSC's corrigendum of 14 January 2026). In the CGL 2025 final result, the last selected UR candidate for Assistant Section Officer (CSS) had 331 marks in Tier 2 Paper-I (Sections I + II), and for Inspector (Central Excise) 319.
Every number on this page is copied from the Staff Selection Commission's own result write-ups on ssc.gov.in (and the older ssc.nic.in portal for 2022 and 2023). Each table names its PDF so you can check it yourself.
Key takeaway: CGL has three kinds of cut-off. The Tier 1 cut-off decides who writes Tier 2. The Tier 2 cut-off decides whose computer test (CKT) and typing test (DEST) are evaluated. The final post-wise cut-off is the marks of the last candidate selected for each post and category, and it is the one that actually decides your job.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Cut Off (Year-Wise, All Other Posts)
SSC fixes separate Tier 1 lists for JSO, Statistical Investigator Grade-II (and, in 2022 and 2023, Assistant Audit/Accounts Officer). The table below is the big list that covers every other post: ASO, Inspectors, Auditor, Accountant, Tax Assistant, UDC and so on. Marks are normalised, out of 200.

How to read the two corrected years:
- CGL 2025: the result write-up of 18 December 2025 first printed UR 136.83159, SC 114.97063, ST 106.36936, ESM 92.80460, VH 72.00006 and Others-PwD 41.70541. SSC's corrigendum dated 14.01.2026 replaced these with the "actual" figures shown above and said the correction did not add or remove anyone from the list. Original: CGL 2025 Tier 1 result write-up.
- CGL 2024: the Tier 1 result of 05.12.2024 had UR 153.18981, OBC 146.26291, EWS 142.01963, SC 126.45554 and ST 111.88930. After CAT orders, SSC's additional result of 17.01.2025 lowered these five to the values in the table and shortlisted 609 more candidates. Horizontal categories (ESM, OH, HH, VH, PwD) were not revised.
- CGL 2023: Tier 1 result write-up of 19.09.2023 (List-4 there, because AAO had its own List-1).
- CGL 2022: Tier 1 result write-up of 09.02.2023 (List-3 "posts other than AAO and JSO"). Note that UR and OBC had the same cut-off that year.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Cut Off for JSO and Statistical Investigator
JSO and SI Grade-II candidates also write Paper-II (Statistics) in Tier 2, so SSC shortlists them separately, only from candidates who chose those posts in the form.
| Category | JSO 2025 | JSO 2024 | JSO 2023 | JSO 2022 |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| SC | 137.16184 | not listed | not listed |
| ST | 130.16987 | 134.49545 | 127.32602 |
"Not listed" means SSC printed no row for that category (it says categories with nil vacancies are left out). For CGL 2022 and 2023 the Assistant Audit Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer list had a UR cut-off of 158.36560 (2022) and 169.67168 (2023); SSC did not run a separate AAO list in 2024 or 2025.
SSC CGL Tier 2 Cut Off (Paper-I, Section I + II)
After Tier 2, SSC first takes the total of Section-I (Mathematical Abilities + Reasoning) and Section-II (English + General Awareness) of Paper-I. Only candidates above this line get their CKT and DEST evaluated.

CGL 2025 changed the format. In its First Round of Tentative Allocation write-up (08.04.2026), SSC printed section-wise cut-offs instead of one total: Section-I 54 and Section-II 63 for UR, 45 and 52.5 for OBC/EWS, and 36 and 42 for every other category. These equal the minimum qualifying percentages (30%, 25% and 20%) of the 180 and 210 marks that the two sections carry.
SSC CGL CKT and DEST Cut Off
| Test | Category | CGL 2025 | CGL 2024 | CGL 2023 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CKT marks (2025: out of 60) | UR | 24 | 27 | 27 |
| OBC / EWS | 21 | 24 | 24 | |
| SC, ST, ESM, OH, HH, VH, PwD-Others | 18 | 21 | 21 | |
| DEST, maximum % of mistakes | UR | 5% | 5% | 5% |
| OBC, EWS, SC, ST, ESM | 7% | 7% | 7% | |
| OH, HH, VH, PwD-Others | 10% | 10% | 10% |
CKT is compulsory only for posts that require the Computer Proficiency Test, such as ASO in CSS, MEA and AFHQ, and the CBIC Inspector posts. Tax Assistant and some UDC posts need a higher DEST standard.
SSC CGL Final Cut Off (Post-Wise, Last Selected Candidate)
This is the most useful table for choosing post preferences. The figure is the Tier 2 total of the last candidate selected in that category. For all posts except JSO and SI, it is Paper-I Section I + Section II; for JSO it also includes Paper-II (Statistics).

SSC changes post codes every year (ASO CSS was B03 in 2023 and 2024 but B16 in 2025), so we matched posts by name and department, not by code. For CGL 2023, SSC noted that the Auditor and Accountant vacancies (and AAO) were withdrawn by the user department, which is why there is no 2023 Auditor row. The final post-wise cut-off for CGL 2022 is not on this page because we could not open the official PDF; we will add it once we can verify it.

Why the SSC CGL Cut Off Changes Every Year
Three things in the official documents explain most of the movement:
- Vacancies. CGL 2023 had 7,859 selections and a high Tier 1 cut-off; CGL 2024 had 18,174 selections but an even higher one. Vacancies alone do not set the cut-off. Paper difficulty and the number of serious candidates matter as much.
- Normalisation method. CGL 2022, 2023 and 2024 Tier 1 marks were normalised with the formula SSC published on 07.02.2019. CGL 2025 was the first CGL normalised with the equipercentile method under SSC's notice of 02.06.2025, which compares your percentile in your own shift. The lower 2025 numbers are partly a change of scale, so do not compare 2025 with 2024 as if they were the same ruler.
- Corrections and court orders. Two of the last three Tier 1 results (2024 and 2025) were revised after publication. Always use the latest official write-up.
How SSC CGL Cut Off Is Decided (Rules From the Notice)
- Minimum qualifying marks (Para 16.1 of the notice): UR 30%, OBC/EWS 25%, all other categories 20%. This applies to Tier 1 and to each section of Tier 2. In Tier 1 (200 marks) that is 60, 50 and 40 marks; you can see 40.00000 printed as the cut-off for several PwD categories in 2022.
- UR-standard candidates are counted under their own category. Every write-up says that reserved-category candidates who clear the UR cut-off "have been shown under their respective categories", so the UR count looks small.
- Merit is Tier 2 only. The final merit list uses Tier 2 marks; Tier 1 only shortlists.
- Tie-break order (CGL 2025 final write-up): Paper-II marks (for JSO/SI), then Section-I marks of Paper-I, then date of birth (older first), then alphabetical order of name.
SSC CGL 2026 Cut Off: What Is Known Now
The CGL 2026 Tier 1 exam is being held from 30 September to 30 October 2026, as per SSC's Important Notice dated 12.09.2026. SSC's tentative vacancy list of 24.09.2026 shows 10,731 vacancies (UR 4,412, OBC 2,772, EWS 1,028, SC 1,715, ST 804). The official CGL 2026 cut-off is not published yet; it will come with the Tier 1 result. For a trend-based estimate, read our SSC CGL expected cut off 2026 analysis.
