SSC CHSL Cut Off: Quick Answer
The official SSC CHSL 2025 Tier-1 cut-off for LDC/JSA was 144.26 for UR, 143.83 for OBC, 141.42 for EWS, 125.40 for SC and 115.25 for ST (normalised marks out of 200). In CHSL 2024 the same list closed higher, at 157.36 for UR. The DEO cut-offs are much higher: 169.54 (UR) for DEO Science stream in 2025. All figures below are copied from SSC's own result write-ups.
Key takeaway: The UR LDC/JSA Tier-1 cut-off fell by about 13 marks from 2024 to 2025 (157.36 to 144.26). A safe Tier-1 target for General candidates is still well above the latest cut-off, because the final merit is decided by Tier-II marks.

SSC CHSL Cut Off Trend: 2024 vs 2025 (LDC/JSA Tier 1)
| Category | 2024 | 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| UR | 157.36 | 144.26 | −13.10 |
| OBC | 156.62 | 143.83 | −12.79 |
| EWS | 150.52 | 141.42 | −9.09 |
| SC | 139.68 | 125.40 | −14.28 |
| ST | 129.45 | 115.25 | −14.19 |
Changes are worked out from the official figures (rounded to two decimals). The fall was broad, across every major category, so it points to a tougher 2025 paper or a different shortlisting ratio rather than a change for one group.
SSC CHSL Minimum Qualifying Marks in Tier 1
A cut-off is the score SSC actually needed to fill Tier-II seats. Separately, every candidate must also cross the minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I (Para 17.1 of the notice, repeated in the result write-up):
| Category | Minimum qualifying marks |
|---|---|
| UR | 30% |
| OBC / EWS | 25% |
| All other categories | 20% |
Tier-I is marked out of 200 (four parts of 25 questions, 2 marks each, with 0.50 negative mark per wrong answer, as per the CHSL notice). So 30% is 60 marks, but the actual UR cut-off has been well above 140.
SSC CHSL Final Cut Off 2025 (Last Selected Candidate, Post-Wise)
In the final result, SSC does not publish one cut-off per category. It lists, for every post, the marks of the last selected candidate. Merit is based on Tier-II marks (Section-I + Section-II). Selected rows for posts with large vacancies:
| Post (code) | UR | OBC | EWS | SC | ST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LDC/JSA, Intelligence Bureau (L02) | 298 | 296 | 294 | 285 | 274 |
| LDC/JSA, Canteen Stores Department (L04) | 296 | 294 | 293 | 285 | 271 |
| LDC/JSA, Border Roads Organisation, male only (L16) | 293 | 293 | – | 284 | 269 |
| LDC/JSA, Controller General of Accounts (L20) | 301 | 298 | 297 | 289 | 273 |
| LDC/JSA, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (L31) | 298 | 295 | 294 | 286 | 272 |
| LDC/JSA/Clerk-cum-Typist, CGDA (L35) | 300 | 295 | 294 | 286 | 272 |
| DEO/DEO Grade 'A', Controller General of Accounts (D55) | 317 | – | 310 | 302 | 294 |
"–" means no candidate's marks are shown for that category (no vacancy or none allocated). Source: Para 6 of the CHSL 2025 final result write-up. Ties were broken by Section-I marks of Tier-II, then Tier-I marks, then date of birth (older first).

How to Use the SSC CHSL Cut Off for Your Target Score
- Set your Tier-I target above the last cut-off. For UR LDC/JSA, the last two cut-offs were 144 (2025) and 157 (2024). Aim for at least 160 out of 200 in mocks so that a harder year still clears you.
- Treat Tier-I as a filter only. Final selection uses Tier-II marks, so a high Tier-I score helps only in a tie at the second level.
- Prepare for 290+ in Tier-II. For UR, the last selected candidates in large departments scored about 293 to 301 in 2025.
- Do not ignore typing and the computer test. Section-III (Computer Knowledge Test) and the typing/skill test are qualifying; failing them ends your selection whatever your score.
- Practise with real papers. Use the official Tier-1 question papers and sectional tests below to check where you stand.
