Reservation notes from the notification:
- 10% of Constable (Civil) vacancies in each district are reserved for Home Guards and 10% for Group D employees of the Police Department.
- 10% of Constable (Communication) vacancies are for Home Guards, and 10% (maximum 10 posts) for Group D employees of the police establishment.
- 10% of Firefighter and Firefighting Driver posts are for Home Guards.
- Driver PMT has 10% for Home Guards and 20% for Group D employees of the police establishment.
- Women and transgender candidates can apply for all posts except Firefighter, Firefighting Driver and Driver PMT.

Other Key Conditions
- Indian citizen who can speak, read and write Odia, with proof as listed in the notification (for example Odia as a language subject up to Class VII or above).
- Constable (Civil): you must be registered in the Employment Exchange of the district you choose before final submission.
- Firefighting Driver: valid Heavy Motor Vehicle licence held for at least one year (excluding learner period) before the date of the advertisement.
- Driver PMT: valid LMV or HMV licence held for at least six months (excluding learner period).
- Persons with disability are not eligible for these posts.
- Government and PSU employees can apply, but must inform their office and produce a No Objection Certificate at document verification.

Constable (Civil) and Constable (Communication) are in Pay Level 5 as per the Odisha Revised Scales of Pay Rules, 2017. The pay level of every other post is given in para 4 of the notification.
OUSSSC Recruitment 2026 Application Fee
- Examination fee: ₹500 for all candidates other than SC and ST.
- SC and ST candidates do not pay the fee.
- Pay online through net banking, credit card, debit card or UPI.
