JKSSB JE Civil Recruitment 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 11 of 2026 (dated 27 October 2026) for 458 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil): 282 in the Jal Shakti Department and 176 in the Public Works (R&B) Department. Candidates with a Civil Engineering diploma, degree or AMIE and a valid J&K domicile can apply online at jkssb.nic.in from 30 November 2026 to 29 December 2026.
Both posts are UT Cadre posts in Pay Level-6 (₹35,400-1,12,400). Selection is only on the basis of merit in an objective-type written/OMR exam, followed by document verification.

The two departments are separate items. You can apply for both, but you must mark the items you want and your preference; final allotment is on merit-cum-preference. The board says the number of posts may go up or down before the selection is complete. Horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen and PwBD applies as conveyed by the departments and the rules.

Educational Qualification
Any one of these (Annexure-A):
- 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a Government-recognised Institute, or
- Degree in Civil Engineering from an Indian University, or
- AMIE Section (A & B) India.
You must hold the qualification on or before 29.12.2026. Candidates with a qualification other than the one prescribed are not eligible. If you studied at a university outside J&K (other than a Central University), you will need a Bonafide Certificate in the board's format at document verification.
Domicile
You must be a domicile of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and hold a valid Domicile Certificate issued on or before 29.12.2026.

Ex-Servicemen can deduct their period of service in the Armed Forces from their actual age. If the resulting age is not more than 3 years above the maximum limit, they are treated as eligible. No candidate may be born after 01.01.2008.

- Written exam (objective type, OMR-based): the selection is made only on the merit of the written/OMR exam.
- Document Verification (DV): shortlisted candidates must bring original domicile, qualification, category and other certificates, valid as on 29.12.2026.
There is no interview.
JKSSB JE Civil Exam Pattern 2026
The advertisement gives these rules for the exam:
- Objective-type, multiple-choice questions
- Questions in English only
- Negative marking: 1/4 mark is deducted for each wrong answer
- PwBD candidates who qualify can get a scribe and/or 20 minutes extra per hour with the certificates in Annexure-B and C
