- Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions given after it. Ten years ago, the weekly market in the town of Rampur was a muddy field where farmers spread their vegetables on sacks. There was no shade, no drinking water and no proper place to park carts. In the rainy season, many farmers stayed away because their produce would rot in the mud. A group of farmers decided to approach the town council with a plan. They offered to pay a small fee every week if the council built a covered shed with a concrete floor. The council agreed, and within a year the new market was ready. It had a tin roof, a water tank and separate areas for vegetables, fruits and grains. The change brought more buyers to the market, including traders from nearby towns. Farmers could now sell even in the rainy season, and less produce was wasted. The fees collected were used to keep the market clean and to add lights so that it could stay open in the evening. Today, Rampur's market is one of the busiest in the district. The farmers who planned it say the lesson is simple: when people work together and share the cost, even a small town can build something that benefits everyone.
