Data Interpretation Questions for SSC & Bank Exams: 100 Free Practice Tests

Data Interpretation (DI) gives a table, bar graph, line graph, pie chart or caselet and asks 5 questions on it. It is a fixed part of bank prelims and mains quant and of SSC CGL Tier 2.

Most DI questions reduce to percentages, ratios and averages, so DI speed depends on fast approximation and reading the units correctly.

Data Interpretation: Key formulas

  • Percentage change = (New − Old) ÷ Old × 100.
  • Share of a part = Part ÷ Total × 100%.
  • Pie chart: central angle of a sector = (Value ÷ Total) × 360°.
  • Average = Sum of values ÷ Number of values.
  • Ratio of A to B = A : B; reduce both by their HCF before comparing.
  • Read the units and the base year first; calculate only what the question asks and approximate when the options are far apart.
