Simple and Compound Interest: Key formulas
- SI = (P × R × T) ÷ 100; Amount = P + SI.
- CI amount: A = P × (1 + R/100)ᵀ; CI = A − P.
- CI − SI for 2 years = P × (R/100)².
- CI − SI for 3 years = P × (R/100)² × (3 + R/100).
- Half-yearly compounding: use R/2 as the rate and 2T as the number of periods; quarterly: R/4 and 4T.
- A sum doubles at SI in 100/R years.
