The official SSC GD 2026 notice (F. No. HQ-C-3007/10/2025-C-3) gives Pay Level 3 (₹21,700 to ₹69,100) for all posts: Constable (GD) in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. So the starting basic pay is ₹21,700. With DA at 60%, our approximate calculation puts the gross at about ₹39,800 to ₹47,000 a month, depending on HRA and Transport Allowance at the place of posting.

DA status: 60% from 1 January 2026. As of 20 October 2026 we could find no PIB release or Department of Expenditure order for the instalment due from 1 July 2026.

Worked example (CISF constable in Delhi drawing HRA): basic ₹21,700; DA 60% = ₹13,020; HRA 30% = ₹6,510; TA = ₹3,600 + 60% of ₹3,600 = ₹5,760. Gross = 21,700 + 13,020 + 6,510 + 5,760 = ₹46,990. NPS = 10% of ₹34,720 = ₹3,472. In-hand before tax ≈ ₹43,518.
These figures are a floor for comparison, not a pay slip. Field and border postings usually carry extra allowances that the SSC notice does not list.

SSC GD 2026: Where the Recruitment Stands
- CBE held: 27.04.2026 to 30.05.2026, with 21,56,776 candidates appearing (SSC write-up dated 12.10.2026).
- Next stage: SSC has shortlisted candidates for the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test, which the CAPFs conduct, followed by medical examination and document verification.

SSC GD Age Limit 2026 (Linked to the Job)
The age limit is 18-23 years as on 01.01.2026 (born not before 02.01.2003 and not later than 01.01.2008). Upper-age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 3 years for ex-servicemen after deducting military service, with further relaxation for children and dependants of 1984 riot victims (5, 8 or 10 years by category), as per Para 5.1 of the notice.
SSC GD Salary After 8th Pay Commission
The 8th Central Pay Commission's Terms of Reference were approved on 28 October 2025, with 18 months from its constitution to report (PIB). The Finance Ministry told the Lok Sabha on 10 August 2026 that the Commission had not yet submitted its recommendations, and no new pay matrix had been notified by 20 October 2026. Until then, GD constables are paid on Level 3 of the 7th CPC matrix.
