SSC CPO Salary 2026: Quick Answer

As per the official SSC notice for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026 (SSC CPO 2026), all three posts carry Pay Level 6 (₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400), so a new Sub-Inspector starts on a basic pay of ₹35,400 a month. With DA at 60%, HRA and Transport Allowance, our approximate calculation gives a gross of about ₹63,000 to ₹73,000 and an in-hand of about ₹57,400 to ₹67,400 before income tax, depending on the city.

Key takeaway: Pay Level 6 and the ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 range are official (Para 1 of the notice). The gross and in-hand figures are our approximate calculations from official DA, HRA and TA rates. Force-specific allowances (such as those for field or hardship postings in CAPFs) are not in the SSC notice, so we do not add made-up numbers for them.

DA status (21 October 2026): DA has been 60% of basic since 1 January 2026, after the Cabinet decision of 18 April 2026. As of the morning of 21 October 2026 no Cabinet decision or Department of Expenditure order had been issued for the instalment due from 1 July 2026. When it is announced, add the new percentage of ₹35,400 to the gross figures below.

HRA and accommodation: HRA is paid only when government accommodation is not provided. Many CAPF postings come with accommodation or barracks, and then HRA does not apply.

SSC CPO In-Hand Salary 2026 (Approximate)

Method: basic ₹35,400 + DA 60% + HRA + TA with DA, minus 10% of (basic + DA) towards pension. Income tax, professional tax, CGEGIS and force-specific deductions or allowances are not included.

Worked example: Delhi Police SI salary in hand

Delhi is an X-class city and on the higher-TA list:

  • Basic pay: ₹35,400
  • DA at 60%: ₹21,240
  • HRA at 30%: ₹10,620 (only if no government accommodation)
  • TA: ₹3,600 + 60% = ₹5,760
  • Gross: ₹73,020
  • Pension deduction: 10% of (₹35,400 + ₹21,240) = ₹5,664
  • In-hand before tax: about ₹67,356

Worked example: CAPF SI with government accommodation in a Z-class town

No HRA: ₹35,400 + ₹21,240 + ₹2,880 = ₹59,520 gross; minus ₹5,664 = about ₹53,856 before tax, plus any force-specific allowances for that posting.
