SSC CHSL 2026 — Full Notification Details
The Staff Selection Commission published the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026 notice on 7 September 2026 (F. No. HQ-C1102/5/2026-C-1). Candidates who have passed 12th standard could apply for approx. 2,536 tentative vacancies in Group C posts of the Central Government. Applications are now closed, and SSC has fixed the Tier 1 exam for 30 November to 31 December 2026.

SSC says final vacancies will be decided after scrutiny by the user departments, and the post-wise and category-wise list will be published on ssc.gov.in under Tentative Vacancy. As of 17 October 2026 it has not been published.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (as on 07-10-2026):
- LDC/JSA and most DEO posts: 12th Pass from a recognised Board or University
- DEO / DEO Grade 'A' in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, SSC and the Ministry of Culture: 12th Pass in Science stream with Mathematics
Age Limit:
- 18 to 27 years as on 01-08-2026 (born not before 02-08-1999 and not later than 01-08-2008)
- Age relaxation: SC/ST — 5 years | OBC — 3 years | PwBD — 10 years (more for SC/ST/OBC PwBD), others as per the notice
Selection Process
- Tier 1 (Computer Based Exam) — 100 Questions, 200 Marks, 60 Minutes (15-minute sectional timer)
- English Language (25Q), General Intelligence (25Q), Quantitative Aptitude (25Q), General Awareness (25Q); 0.50 negative marking
- Tier 2 (Computer Based Exam)
- Session I (2 hours 15 minutes): Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning (60Q), English Language & Comprehension and General Awareness (60Q), Computer Knowledge Test (15Q)
- Session II: Skill Test for DEOs / Typing Test for LDC/JSA (qualifying)

- General / OBC / EWS (male): Rs. 100
- SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen / Women: Nil
- Correction charges: Rs. 200 for the first correction, Rs. 500 for the second (all candidates)
