- Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions given after it. In a small town in Rajasthan, a group of schoolchildren noticed that the street lights near their school stayed on all day. They wrote a letter to the municipal office, explaining that the lights were wasting electricity and money. To their surprise, an officer visited the school a week later. The officer thanked the children and explained that the lights were controlled by an old timer that had stopped working. Instead of replacing it with another timer, the office installed sensors that switched the lights on only when it became dark. The officer also invited the children to visit the municipal office to see how the town's electricity was managed. The visit inspired the students to start an energy club in their school. They now check classrooms during breaks to make sure fans and lights are switched off, and they have put up posters asking families to save power at home. In one year, the school's electricity bill fell by nearly a quarter. Their teacher says the biggest lesson for the children was that ordinary citizens, even young ones, can bring change when they speak up politely and with facts.
