SBI PO Psychometric Test Questions 2026: Quick Answer
SBI PO psychometric test questions are personality statements and short work situations, not knowledge questions: you rate how far a statement describes you (strongly disagree to strongly agree) or pick how you would act in a branch situation. There is no answer key, so the only way to "prepare" is to understand the formats and answer honestly and consistently on 31 October 2026, the date in SBI's official notice.
Below are 36 original practice items written by the BookOfExams team (20 agree/disagree, 10 situational, 6 most-like/least-like), plus a consistency checklist and a short Hindi guide. For what the test is and how Phase III marks work, read our SBI PO psychometric test 2026 guide.
Official facts only (SBI notice, advertisement CRPD/PO/2026-27/09): Psychometric test on 31.10.2026 (tentative). Group Exercise and Interviews from 18.11.2026 onwards. Call letters with exact date and time "will be released shortly". Source: SBI notice (PDF).
These items are not official, leaked or memory-based SBI questions. They are practice material to make the formats familiar.
SBI PO Psychometric Test 2026: Official vs Unofficial Details
| Detail | Status for 2026 | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Test date | 31 October 2026 (tentative) | Official: SBI notice |
| Group Exercise and Interviews | From 18 November 2026 onwards | Official: SBI notice |
| Purpose | Personality profiling; findings placed before the interview panel | Official: SBI PO 2026 detailed advertisement (PDF) |
| All questions mandatory | Yes | Official: detailed advertisement |
| Number of questions | Not announced by SBI. Coaching sites cite about 199 items from earlier cycles | Unofficial, e.g. Mahendras |
| Duration | Not announced by SBI. Earlier-cycle reports say about 90 minutes | Unofficial, previous cycles only |
| Answer scale | Not announced. Earlier-cycle candidate reports describe mostly 5-point agree/disagree items | Unofficial |
Bottom line: treat 199 items / 90 minutes as a rough practice benchmark from past cycles, not the confirmed 2026 pattern. Your call letter and the on-screen instructions are the only authority. At that benchmark you would have about 27 seconds per item, so first honest reactions matter more than deep analysis.
Part A: 20 Likert (Agree/Disagree) Sample Questions
Rate each statement: SD = Strongly disagree, D = Disagree, N = Neutral, A = Agree, SA = Strongly agree. Answer for how you usually behave, not how you wish you behaved.
| No. | Statement | Trait it touches |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | I double-check figures before I hand over any document that has money involved. | Accuracy |
| 2 | If a rule slows me down, I look for a way around it. | Rule-following (reverse) |
| 3 | I stay polite even when a customer is rude to me. | Customer orientation |
| 4 | I find it hard to say no when a colleague asks for an improper favour. | Integrity (reverse) |
| 5 | I plan my day with a list before I start work. | Organisation |
| 6 | I get irritated quickly when work piles up. | Stress handling (reverse) |
| 7 | I like being the one who takes the final decision in a group. | Leadership |
| 8 | I share credit with my team when a task goes well. | Teamwork |
| 9 | I admit my mistake to my senior even if nobody else noticed it. | Integrity |
| 10 | I lose interest in routine paperwork after a while. | Persistence (reverse) |
| 11 | I am comfortable being posted to a new town where I do not know anyone. | Adaptability |
| 12 | I prefer to learn a new software system on my own before asking for help. | Initiative |
| 13 | I keep calm when I have to meet a deadline and a target on the same day. | Stress handling |
| 14 | I avoid giving negative feedback to a junior because it feels awkward. | Leadership (reverse) |
| 15 | I explain banking terms in simple words when a customer looks confused. | Communication |
| 16 | I sometimes promise more than I can actually deliver. | Reliability (reverse) |
| 17 | I enjoy meeting people from very different backgrounds. | Openness |
| 18 | I follow KYC and documentation steps fully even for customers I know personally. | Rule-following |
| 19 | I need regular praise to stay motivated. | Self-motivation (reverse) |
| 20 | I finish what I start, even when it becomes boring. | Persistence |
How to read Part A: items marked "(reverse)" describe the opposite of the trait. If you agree with item 9 (admitting mistakes) you would logically disagree with item 4 (improper favours). The test is not scoring you on a single item; it looks at patterns across many.
Part B: 10 Situational Judgement Sample Questions (Bank Branch Scenarios)
Choose the action you would most likely take. A note after each explains what the options reveal; there is no official key.
Q21. An elderly customer cannot fill a withdrawal slip and the queue behind her is long. (a) Ask her to come back when the branch is less busy. (b) Fill the details with her, have her verify and sign, and keep the queue informed. (c) Ask the person behind her to help. (d) Send her to the enquiry desk without explaining. Note: (b) balances customer care with proper procedure (the customer still verifies and signs).
Q22. A relative asks you to open an account for his friend without the full KYC documents, "just this once". (a) Open it and collect the papers later. (b) Politely refuse and list the documents needed. (c) Ask a colleague to do it. (d) Ignore the request. Note: integrity under personal pressure. (b) is clear and still helpful.
Q23. Your team misses a monthly target because one member was absent for two weeks. (a) Report that the target was missed because of that member. (b) Explain the shortfall to your manager, own it as a team, and propose a recovery plan. (c) Say nothing and hope it is overlooked. (d) Work alone overnight to cover it without telling anyone. Note: ownership and teamwork. (d) shows effort but poor communication.
Q24. You notice a colleague entering a slightly wrong account number on a deposit. (a) Point it out to the colleague immediately and quietly. (b) Tell the manager first. (c) Let it go; it is not your entry. (d) Correct it yourself later without telling anyone. Note: (a) fixes the error fast and respects the colleague; (b) may be right if the error is repeated or serious.
Q25. A customer insists on a loan amount above what his income supports and becomes angry. (a) Approve a smaller amount without explaining. (b) Explain the eligibility rules calmly and show what he can qualify for. (c) Refer him to another branch. (d) Promise to "see what can be done" to calm him down. Note: honesty plus customer communication. (d) creates a false expectation.
Q26. You are given a task with unclear instructions and your senior is in a meeting. (a) Wait until the senior is free and do nothing. (b) Start the parts that are clear, note your questions, and confirm the rest when the senior returns. (c) Guess the whole thing. (d) Hand it to a colleague. Note: initiative with good judgement.
Q27. The core banking system goes down for an hour during peak time. (a) Close the counter. (b) Inform waiting customers honestly, offer what can be done offline as per rules, and note urgent cases. (c) Tell customers the problem will be fixed in five minutes. (d) Leave the counter till the system returns. Note: stress handling and transparent communication.
Q28. You disagree with your manager's way of handling a recovery case. (a) Follow it silently. (b) Share your view privately with reasons, then follow the final decision. (c) Discuss it with other staff. (d) Refuse to work on the case. Note: respectful disagreement and discipline.
Q29. A customer offers you a gift after you helped him with a pension issue. (a) Accept it; you earned it. (b) Thank him and politely decline as per the bank's rules. (c) Accept and share it with the team. (d) Accept only if it is small. Note: integrity. Follow the employer's gift policy.
Q30. You are posted to a rural branch where most customers speak a language you are still learning. (a) Ask for a transfer immediately. (b) Learn basic phrases, take help from local staff, and use simple forms and gestures meanwhile. (c) Serve only customers who speak your language. (d) Ask customers to bring someone who speaks your language. Note: adaptability, which matters because SBI POs can be posted anywhere in India.
Part C: 6 Most-Like-Me / Least-Like-Me Sample Questions
Pick the statement most like you and the one least like you. All options are positive on purpose: the format shows what you prioritise.

How to Answer SBI PO Psychometric Test Questions Consistently
Personality tests usually ask the same idea more than once in different words. These pairs from the practice set above show how that works:
| Item | Paired item | A consistent pattern looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Q9 (admit my mistake) | Q4 (hard to refuse improper favours) | Agree with Q9, disagree with Q4 |
| Q20 (finish what I start) | Q10 (lose interest in routine paperwork) | Agree with Q20, disagree or neutral on Q10 |
| Q13 (calm under deadline) | Q6 (irritated when work piles up) | If you agree with Q13, Q6 should not be "strongly agree" |
| Q18 (full KYC even for known customers) | Q2 (look for ways around rules) and Q22 | Agree with Q18, disagree with Q2, choose (b) in Q22 |
| Q7 (like taking final decisions) | Q14 (avoid negative feedback) and Q33 | Your leadership answers should point the same way |
Practical rules for 31 October:
- Answer as yourself at work or college, not as an imagined "ideal officer". Faking every answer is what creates contradictions.
- Do not mark every positive statement "Strongly agree". An all-extreme profile looks unrealistic. Use Agree and Neutral where they are true.
- Watch reverse-worded items with "sometimes", "find it hard", "avoid" or "need". Read the full sentence before clicking.
- Keep a steady pace. Earlier-cycle reports (unofficial) suggest under half a minute per item. First honest reaction, then move on.
- Do not skip. SBI says all questions are mandatory.
- Expect follow-up in the interview. The panel sees the findings, so keep one true example ready for each strength and weakness. For interview banking basics, revise banking terms A to Z.
SBI PO Psychometric Test Hindi: Kaise Answer Karein
SBI PO psychometric test kya hai? Yeh ek personality test hai jo 31 October 2026 ko hoga (SBI notice ke anusaar, tentative). Isme sahi ya galat answer nahi hote. Aapke jawabon se aapki working style ki profile banti hai, jo interview panel ke saamne rakhi jaati hai.
Kaise answer karein:
- Imaandaari se: jaisa aap sach mein kaam karte hain, waisa hi chunen.
- Consistency rakhein: ek hi baat alag shabdon mein dobara aa sakti hai. Jaise "main apni galti maan leta/leti hoon" se agree kiya hai, to "main galat kaam ke liye mana nahi kar paata" se disagree hona chahiye.
- Har baar "Strongly agree" na dabayein: isse profile banavati lagti hai.
- Prashn poora padhein: "kabhi-kabhi", "nahi" jaise shabd matlab badal dete hain.
- Koi prashn na chhodein: SBI ke anusaar sabhi prashn anivarya hain.
Prashnon ki sankhya aur samay: SBI ne 2026 ke liye officially nahi bataya hai. Coaching websites pichhle cycles ke aadhar par lagbhag 199 prashn aur 90 minute batati hain; ise sirf andaza maanein.
